The Southern Christian Leadership Conference (SCLC) has a rich legacy rooted in the struggle for civil rights and the protection of voting rights for all Americans. As the driving force behind the Voting Rights Act of 1965, the SCLC has always placed the right to vote at the very heart of its mission. In keeping with this tradition, we are proud to introduce the SCLC V.O.T.E.S. program—Voting Organizing Training Empowerment Sessions—a nationwide initiative designed to educate, mobilize, and empower voters as we approach the critical Presidential election in November 2024.
Empowering the Electorate
The SCLC V.O.T.E.S. program is an essential part of our ongoing commitment to ensuring that every eligible American is not only able to exercise their right to vote but is also informed and engaged in the electoral process. The power of the vote is one of the most fundamental rights we possess as citizens, and it is crucial that this right is both protected and exercised with full awareness of the issues at stake.
As we look ahead to the 2024 Presidential election, it is more important than ever to equip voters with the knowledge and tools they need to make informed decisions. SCLC V.O.T.E.S. aims to do just that by offering comprehensive training sessions that cover everything from the mechanics of voting to a deep dive into the key issues on the ballot. Through these sessions, we seek to empower individuals to not only cast their votes but to do so with confidence and purpose.
