SCLC Poverty Tour

SCLC Poverty Tour in 2026 is a national effort will travel to key communities to confront the realities of poverty, lift the voices of those most affected, and press leaders in every sector toward real solutions rooted in justice, opportunity, and human dignity.

The tour is designed to shine a national light on systems that keep people in poverty and to help communities move from crisis to change.

Elevate poverty as a central moral and public policy concern in America
Expose structures that drive economic inequality and disenfranchisement
Advance practical solutions that connect wages, housing, education, and capital
Turn attention into action in partnership with local leaders and residents

CORE ISSUES AT EVERY STOP

Wages and employment

Conditions of work, pay, and access to living wage jobs Barriers that keep workers from better opportunities

Housing

Lack of affordable, stable places to live in both cities and rural communities Policies that can prevent displacement and support long term stability
